Floyd

Floyd is a toolset that allows to render Maya Fluids with RenderMan renderers with improved quality and advanced rendering effects, aimed at VFX production.
Floyd consists of:
- A high-performance ray marching DSO: floyd.dylib/.so/.dll
- A RSL2.0 interior shader: floyd.sdl (3Delight version)
- A RSL2.0 surface shader: floyd.slo (PRMan version)
- A command line tool, floyd-wt, to apply wavelet turbulence to Maya caches
The following advanced affects are supported:
- Improved filtering of textures
- High quality anti-aliasing and filtering (no banding, no artifacts)
- 3D motion blur
- 2.5D post motion blur
- Render-time addition of detail via floyd-wt wavelet-noise
- Optional cache re-timing without re-simulation
- Point-based occlusion, color bleed, SH environment lighting
- Volumetric scattering
Floyd natively reads Maya Fluid caches.
Floyd is available for:
- PRMan
- 3Delight
