A new Website
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010
For people interested on what’s happening on Jupiter, not astronomically speaking, the new /*jupiter jazz*/ website is now online.
In the last year little revolutions have happened on Jupiter:
- The R&D command center rolled out our first commercial software, AtomKraft
- The team population has increased and we regularly have more and more website visitors, thanks everyone
- We started up a branch which takes care of reality, we named it /*made on jupiter*/ and it is directed by Tom Kluyskens
- With SIGGRAPH 2010 coming we decided a website update was definitely due
We now have a more typographic website, which should be very different from any other software vendor, and it is built on modern technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JQuery and quantum ecology, such mix should provide easily readable contents to visitors. We also chose wisely a design that works well with portable devices based on Apple iOS and Google Android, we have to thank Information Architects for providing the base theme.
Most importantly we feel we now have the experience to write articles, which are not just blog posts but actual informative documents (at least we hope so) about what our domains of interest. /*jupiter jazz*/ has been very active in the past in writing educational resources, and we feel articles are the right medium to share knowledge. We believe this is good way to provide free information, yes, again as in ‘beer’, and possibly being useful in saving people from the infamous task (and our number one nemesis) of reinventing the wheel™.
Last but not least finally we have a logo! It is still a tentative logo, and though it might appear very simple a constant flow of proposal has been (and still is) discussed internally. We started up in a very illustrative way to finish up in an abstract and classical way. The new logo has been also easily ported to /*made on jupiter*/
We apologize in advance as we are pretty sure some links or contact info could be broken.
